Meanwhile, in Gaza… (winter is coming)
The bruising cold of winter is returning to Gaza, and Israel still refuses to allow construction materials inside.
‘”When it rains, it rains on us,”‘ said Karima Juneid, 56, a Gaza woman living in a trailer close to where her family’s four-story apartment building once stood. Juneid is one of around 2,000 Gaza residents who still live in donated trailers and tents in heavily damaged areas. Most residents have crowded into apartments with relatives or have recycled old materials to fix their homes.’
Gazans: if your home was attacked in winter 2009 (and you miraculously survived), or if you have been waiting for three years to build a home previously attacked, or if you already have a home and are simply interested in not freezing to death this winter because of electricity cuts, too bad.
